Well, if you remember two verses was all we had concerning Eunice, Timothy’s mom. Those two verses were’nt even in the same book, but we learned of her evident faith, her unfiegned faith, and her influential faith. So let’s read verses 1 &2 of Romans 16 and see what we can learn about and from Phebe.
Phoebe Palmer (Decem – November 2, ) was a Methodist evangelist and writer who promoted the doctrine of Christian perfection. She is considered one of the founders of the Holiness movement within Methodist Christianity. Phebe occupied an important place in the church at Cenchrea, and this is included by the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures for our instruction. We must receive this Word of God as such because there are those who would argue that the whole of Romans 16 is not really, in the strictest sense of the word, the Gospel to the church.
Phebe had faith in the promises of her patriarchal blessing. It said she would be the mother of many children and marry a man with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. 17 But so far Phebe had no prospects of marriage, and she knew she was older than most women who married and started having children.
